Become a Friend of the Festival
To catch the imagination of the general public, Festivals need charismatic performers. We want to continue to bring international celebrities to Birmingham. However, celebrity comes at a price.
The Birmingham Early Music Festival is a registered charity. It rarely makes a profit once bills are paid. In fact, it struggles every year to raise enough early funding to allow us to book performers for the following year. It’s not that we waste money. Every penny is important to us and is scrutinised externally by auditors. Money collected is not spent on wages for the Management Board. The fact is that as volunteers, they do not get any payment for the valuable free time they spend planning and preparing for future Festivals.
Even before one Festival is over, fundraising for the next begins. Core funding, from Trusts and other Arts funding organisations is vital to us and a large number of applications are made to a wide range of Charitable bodies. Even small Grants are hard won, but gratefully received.
Please consider helping us by becoming a ‘Friend of the Birmingham Early Music Festival 2007’, making a donation and/or joining our Mailing List. You can make a real difference today by supporting the future financial stability of YOUR Festival.
